Grooming and coat care in Addanki

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Addanki being coastal tropical, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Feeding a giant dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a giant frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Living with a Newfoundland Puppy in Addanki

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Newfoundland Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Space and the outdoors with a Newfoundland Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a gentle, patient, calm dog the fit is usually good either way.

Is the Newfoundland Puppy right for Addanki?

Addanki is coastal tropical — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important — and the Newfoundland Puppy is a giant-sized, gentle, patient, calm breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Addanki is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Newfoundland needs real protection from that because a giant body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 18°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

Most of the year's rain falls in October. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Newfoundland puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
