The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Eluru

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Eluru, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Living with a American Bully XL Size Puppy in Eluru

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active American Bully XL Size Puppy. Owners throughout peninsular India tend to find this dog a confident, stable, good-natured companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Health and vet care in Eluru

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Summer here peaks in May at about 37°C. That is manageable for a American Bully XL Size, but watch it closely because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 19°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from July to October, and October is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new American Bully XL Size puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
