Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Living with a Golden Retriever in Kanubari Adc

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the region's hills tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Kanubari Adc

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Kanubari Adc, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Grooming and coat care in Kanubari Adc

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, a Golden Retriever's coat and skin want checking more often through the cold winter season. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

Summer here peaks in June at about 33°C. That is manageable for a Golden Retriever, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body and a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Golden Retriever puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
