Space and the outdoors with a Pomeranian Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a vivacious, bold, intelligent dog the fit is usually good either way.

Is the Pomeranian Puppy right for Kokrajhar?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and a small-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Pomeranian Puppy adapts well to Kokrajhar on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Living with a Pomeranian Puppy in Kokrajhar

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In high-rainfall tropical conditions water matters as much as food — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Summer here peaks in April at about 33°C. That is manageable for a Pomeranian, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A light sweater helps a small Pomeranian on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Pomeranian puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
