Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in North Guwahati

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. The green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Great Dane Puppy than intensity ever will. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Great Dane Puppy right for North Guwahati?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, and a giant-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Great Dane Puppy adapts well to North Guwahati on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Living with a Great Dane Puppy in North Guwahati

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Great Dane Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Feeding a giant dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a giant frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.

Summer here peaks in June at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Great Dane, but watch it closely because a giant body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A Great Dane has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Great Dane puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
