Is the Yorkshire Terrier Puppy right for North Guwahati?

North Guwahati is monsoon-heavy — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the Yorkshire Terrier Puppy is a tiny-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Yorkshire Terrier Puppy. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Grooming and coat care in North Guwahati

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, a Yorkshire Terrier Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Health and vet care in North Guwahati

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Summer here peaks in June at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Yorkshire Terrier: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A light sweater helps a tiny Yorkshire Terrier on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Yorkshire Terrier puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
