The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In high-rainfall tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Is the Pomeranian Puppy right for Sapekhati?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, and a small-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Pomeranian Puppy adapts well to Sapekhati on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Grooming and coat care in Sapekhati

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, a Pomeranian Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Summer here peaks in June at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Pomeranian, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A light sweater helps a small Pomeranian on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Pomeranian puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
