The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Akita Inu Puppy right for Ponda?

The Akita Inu Puppy does well in Ponda, with one caveat worth knowing up front: moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips. For a loyal, courageous, dignified, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Akita Inu Puppy. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Ponda

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Ponda, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Winters in Ponda stay warm, with even January nights around 23°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
