Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, keep water available and watch intake through the dry summer months.

Grooming and coat care in Narnaund

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, a Shih Tzu's coat and skin want checking more often through the dry summer months. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Space and the outdoors with a Shih Tzu

Homes around Narnaund usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Narnaund

The dry summer months is the stretch that needs planning. Summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Shih Tzu than intensity ever will. Watch for signs of overheating — heavy panting, drooling or lethargy — during peak afternoons.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Narnaund is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Shih Tzu needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A light sweater helps a small Shih Tzu on the coldest nights.
