Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Space and the outdoors with a Afghan Hound Puppy

Homes around Sainj usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Sainj

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Sainj, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

Living with a Afghan Hound Puppy in Sainj

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners throughout the northern belt tend to find this dog a aloof, dignified, independent companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.
