The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Living with a Dalmatian Puppy in Telka

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a large-sized breed to exercise at home. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Space and the outdoors with a Dalmatian Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a energetic, playful, outgoing dog the fit is usually good either way.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Is the Dalmatian Puppy right for Telka?

Telka is cold mountain — crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter — and the Dalmatian Puppy is a large-sized, energetic, playful, outgoing breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.
