Is the Shih Tzu right for Gurez?

Gurez is temperate highland — winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority — and the Shih Tzu is a small-sized, bold, lively, friendly breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.
