The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Feeding a medium dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In humid coastal conditions water matters as much as food — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Is the Chow Chow Puppy right for Kondotty?

Kondotty is humid coastal — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips — and the Chow Chow Puppy is a medium-sized, dignified, independent, loyal breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Health and vet care in Kondotty

Preventive care in Kondotty is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Space and the outdoors with a Chow Chow Puppy

Homes around Kondotty usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.
