Living with a Labrador Retriever Puppy in Thalassery

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Labrador Retriever Puppy. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Health and vet care in Thalassery

Preventive care in Thalassery is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Grooming and coat care in Thalassery

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Thalassery being coastal tropical, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Summer in Thalassery peaks in March at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Labrador Retriever, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body and a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters in Thalassery stay warm, with even January nights around 23°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Labrador Retriever puppy, the easiest months to arrive in Thalassery are December to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
