Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Thodupuzha

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Thodupuzha, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Living with a Chihuahua Puppy in Thodupuzha

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Chihuahua Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners across South India tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Feeding a tiny dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a tiny build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Grooming and coat care in Thodupuzha

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, a Chihuahua Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Summer here peaks in March at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Chihuahua: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 20°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Chihuahua puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
