Space and the outdoors with a Border Collie Puppy

Homes around Borivali usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Grooming and coat care in Borivali

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Borivali being humid coastal, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Living with a Border Collie Puppy in Borivali

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Border Collie Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners in western India tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Borivali

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Border Collie Puppy than intensity ever will. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Borivali is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon. A Border Collie needs real protection from that because its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters in Borivali stay warm, with even January nights around 16°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Border Collie puppy, the easiest months to arrive in Borivali are October to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
