Space and the outdoors with a Afghan Hound Puppy

Homes around Mawpat usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Mawpat

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Mawpat, the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Afghan Hound Puppy right for Mawpat?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, and a large-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Afghan Hound Puppy adapts well to Mawpat on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In monsoon-heavy conditions water matters as much as food — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.
