Health and vet care in Mawshynrut

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Is the Afghan Hound Puppy right for Mawshynrut?

Mawshynrut is monsoon-heavy — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the Afghan Hound Puppy is a large-sized, aloof, dignified, independent breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

The city sits at about 915 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 27°C in August, so heat is rarely the problem for a Afghan Hound that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C.

The rainy season runs from April to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
