Living with a Pomeranian Puppy in Mylliem

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the North-East tend to find this dog a vivacious, bold, intelligent companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Space and the outdoors with a Pomeranian Puppy

Homes around Mylliem usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Grooming and coat care in Mylliem

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, a Pomeranian Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Health and vet care in Mylliem

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

The city sits at about 1,697 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 22°C in August, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pomeranian that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 2°C in January. A Pomeranian feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from April to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

No month here is easy on every count for a Pomeranian, so plan the first two weeks around a cool, dry room rather than the calendar.
