Living with a Lhasa Apso Puppies in Saipung

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Saipung

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Saipung, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Is the Lhasa Apso Puppies right for Saipung?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and a small-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Lhasa Apso Puppies adapts well to Saipung on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.

The city sits at about 1,039 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 26°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Lhasa Apso that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 5°C in January. A Lhasa Apso feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

No month here is easy on every count for a Lhasa Apso, so plan the first two weeks around a cool, dry room rather than the calendar.
