Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.

Living with a Pug Puppy in Tlabung

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the region's hills tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Health and vet care in Tlabung

Preventive care in Tlabung is largely a matter of anticipating the extended rainy season. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Space and the outdoors with a Pug Puppy

Homes around Tlabung usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Summer in Tlabung peaks in April at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Pug, but watch it closely because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A Pug has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive in Tlabung are February, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
