Grooming and coat care in Nokhu

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Nokhu being monsoon-heavy, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Living with a Boxer Puppy in Nokhu

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Boxer Puppy. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Is the Boxer Puppy right for Nokhu?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and a large-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Boxer Puppy adapts well to Nokhu on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In monsoon-heavy conditions water matters as much as food — rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 28°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a Boxer that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A Boxer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.
