The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Health and vet care in Weziho

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Weziho

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Weziho, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Feeding a medium dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In lush, wet tropical conditions water matters as much as food — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a medium-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the region's hills tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Summer in Weziho peaks in May at about 33°C. That is manageable for a Border Collie, but watch it closely because its double coat holds heat close to the body: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C.

The rainy season runs from June to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Border Collie puppy, the easiest months to arrive in Weziho are October to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
