Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Itamati

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Itamati, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Grooming and coat care in Itamati

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Itamati being humid coastal, the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Is the Dogo Argentino Puppy right for Itamati?

Itamati is humid coastal — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important — and the Dogo Argentino Puppy is a large-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours.
