The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Health and vet care in Kosagumuda

Preventive care in Kosagumuda is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Living with a Pug Puppy in Kosagumuda

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in eastern India tend to find this dog a charming, mischievous, loving companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Grooming and coat care in Kosagumuda

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Kosagumuda being coastal tropical, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Kosagumuda

Kosagumuda is hottest in May, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Pug needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C. A Pug has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive in Kosagumuda are February, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
