Is the Cane Corso Puppy right for Puri (M)?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, and a medium-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Cane Corso Puppy adapts well to Puri (M) on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Grooming and coat care in Puri (M)

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Puri (M) being humid coastal, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Space and the outdoors with a Cane Corso Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a family friendly, good with kids dog the fit is usually good either way.

Summer here peaks in April at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Cane Corso, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Cane Corso puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
