The Pug Puppy does well in Tikabali, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention. For a family friendly, good with kids, small-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Tikabali is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Pug needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A Pug has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
