Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Is the Pomeranian Puppy right for Pakyong?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, and a small-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Pomeranian Puppy adapts well to Pakyong on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Space and the outdoors with a Pomeranian Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a vivacious, bold, intelligent dog the fit is usually good either way.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Pakyong

The cold winter season is the stretch that needs planning. Crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Pomeranian Puppy than intensity ever will. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

The city sits at about 1,307 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 26°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pomeranian that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A light sweater helps a small Pomeranian on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Pomeranian puppy, the easiest months to arrive are April and October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
