Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Pug Puppy than intensity ever will. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Most homes here are apartments and gated flats, so a small-sized breed that adapts to indoor living is a practical choice. In a city, the routine has to be deliberate — fixed walk times, a defined resting spot.
