Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. Is the Pug Puppy right for Morthad?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, and a small-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Pug Puppy adapts well to Morthad on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Morthad

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Morthad, comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Health and vet care in Morthad

Morthad is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Pug needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
