Feeding a giant dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a giant frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, keep water available and watch intake through the brief pre-monsoon heat.

Living with a French Mastiff Puppy in Yedapally

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a giant-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners in the southern region tend to find this dog a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Yedapally

The brief pre-monsoon heat is the stretch that needs planning. Comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a French Mastiff Puppy than intensity ever will. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Yedapally is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A French Mastiff needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and a giant body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters in Yedapally stay warm, with even December nights around 14°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.
