Health and vet care in Lucknow

Preventive care in Lucknow is largely a matter of anticipating the peak summer and winter swings. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Provide shade and constant water in summer; a warm bed and blanket in winter.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a giant dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a giant build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In hot-summer / cool-winter conditions water matters as much as food — the wide seasonal range means both cooling in summer and warmth in winter matter, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Apartment living with a French Mastiff Puppy

Space is the binding constraint in a city, and a settled temperament matters more in a shared building than anywhere else. For a family friendly, good with kids dog the fit is usually good either way.

Living with a French Mastiff Puppy in Lucknow

Most homes here are apartments and gated flats, so a giant-sized breed that adapts to indoor living is a practical choice. In a city, the routine has to be deliberate — fixed walk times, a defined resting spot.

Lucknow is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A French Mastiff needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and a giant body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new French Mastiff puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
