Space and the outdoors with a Shih Tzu

Homes around Jilasu usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Living with a Shih Tzu in Jilasu

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Shih Tzu room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners throughout the northern belt tend to find this dog a playful, affectionate, gentle companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Grooming and coat care in Jilasu

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, a Shih Tzu's coat and skin want checking more often through the cold winter season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In cool hill conditions water matters as much as food — winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.
