Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In cold mountain conditions water matters as much as food — the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Space and the outdoors with a Pomeranian Puppy

Homes around Kichha usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Kichha

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Kichha, the cooler climate suits thick-coated breeds but needs winter planning for others, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Living with a Pomeranian Puppy in Kichha

With independent houses common, there is usually room for a small-sized breed to exercise at home. Owners across North India tend to find this dog a vivacious, bold, intelligent companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Kichha is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Pomeranian needs real protection from that because its double coat holds heat close to the body: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 9°C. A light sweater helps a small Pomeranian on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Pomeranian puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
