Grooming and coat care in Nainital

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Nainital being cold mountain, crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Health and vet care in Nainital

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the cold winter season rather than during it. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Is the Chihuahua Puppy right for Nainital?

Nainital is cold mountain — crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter — and the Chihuahua Puppy is a tiny-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

The city sits at about 2,077 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 28°C in May, so heat is rarely the problem for a Chihuahua that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about -2°C in January. A Chihuahua feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Chihuahua puppy, the easiest months to arrive are May: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
