Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Rajgarhi

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Rajgarhi, crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Is the Afghan Hound Puppy right for Rajgarhi?

Rajgarhi is temperate highland — crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter — and the Afghan Hound Puppy is a large-sized, aloof, dignified, independent breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Space and the outdoors with a Afghan Hound Puppy

The first week

The rainy season runs from July to August, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Afghan Hound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, April, May, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
