The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Is the Blue & Gold Macaw right for Jaggaiahpeta?

Jaggaiahpeta is warm and humid — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important — and the Blue & Gold Macaw is a large-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Feeding a large bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Jaggaiahpeta is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Blue & Gold Macaw needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Blue & Gold Macaw bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
