The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a large bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, keep water available and watch intake through the dry summer months.

Is the Blue & Gold Macaw right for Loharu?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, and a large-sized bird feels that more than an owner expects. The Blue & Gold Macaw adapts well to Loharu on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Health and vet care in Loharu

Preventive care in Loharu is largely a matter of anticipating the dry summer months. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the bird; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.
