Grooming and coat care in Telka

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Telka being cold mountain, winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Living with a Yellow Monk in Telka

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Yellow Monk room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners across North India tend to find this bird a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Feeding a small bird here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In cold mountain conditions water matters as much as food — winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.
