Feeding a large bird here

Is the Blue & Gold Macaw right for Homnabad?

Homnabad is moderate Deccan — comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward — and the Blue & Gold Macaw is a large-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Space and the outdoors with a Blue & Gold Macaw

Homes around Homnabad usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.
