Living with a African Grey Parrot in Muvattupuzha

Is the African Grey Parrot right for Muvattupuzha?

Muvattupuzha is humid coastal — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important — and the African Grey Parrot is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Feeding a medium bird here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In humid coastal conditions water matters as much as food — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Health and vet care in Muvattupuzha

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.
