Grooming and coat care in Sohiong

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, a Yellow Monk's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Space and the outdoors with a Yellow Monk

Homes around Sohiong usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

The city sits at about 1,576 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 23°C in August, so heat is rarely the problem for a Yellow Monk that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 2°C in January. A Yellow Monk feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from April to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

No month here is easy on every count for a Yellow Monk, so plan the first two weeks around a cool, dry room rather than the calendar.
