Feeding a medium bird here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In lush, wet tropical conditions water matters as much as food — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Health and vet care in Khezhakeno

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Is the African Grey Parrot right for Khezhakeno?

Khezhakeno is lush, wet tropical — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the African Grey Parrot is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Khezhakeno

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. Near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so keep sessions short and frequent. The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

The city sits at about 1,949 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 24°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a African Grey Parrot that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 1°C in January. A African Grey Parrot feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

No month here is easy on every count for a African Grey Parrot, so plan the first two weeks around a cool, dry room rather than the calendar.
