Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Jhunjhunu

The dry summer months is the stretch that needs planning. Summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Blue & Gold Macaw than intensity ever will. Walk early in the morning or after sunset when the ground is cool, never on hot pavement.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most birds eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Blue & Gold Macaw right for Jhunjhunu?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, and a large-sized bird feels that more than an owner expects. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Feeding a large bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, keep water available and watch intake through the dry summer months.

Grooming and coat care in Jhunjhunu
