A Doodle typically lives 12–15 years. Most of what determines whether it gets there is routine care rather than anything dramatic.
Planning for about 13 years
A Doodle is with you for about 13 years. Budget and routine both need to survive that, including the last quarter of it when a medium dog needs more veterinary attention than it did young.
Vaccination and deworming
The core course starts around six weeks, rabies follows, then annual boosters. Deworming runs fortnightly to twelve weeks, monthly to six months, then quarterly.
Keep the records
Booster schedules run from the original dates, and a new vet asks for the history first.
What to watch for in a medium dog
For this size class: weight gain and hip health. None is a reason not to own the breed; all are cheaper to manage early.
A breed from Poodle crosses, living in India
The Doodle was developed in Poodle crosses. The part that travels badly is rarely temperament - it is the coat and the tolerance for heat. Plan the year around that and most of the rest follows.
The annual check
Once a year for an adult dog, and book it before the hot months rather than during them.
What “friendly” means day to day
The Doodle is described as friendly, intelligent, playful. Of those, friendly is the one that shapes an ordinary day most. It is easy to read as a selling point and harder to live with than the word suggests, because it does not switch off when you are busy.
