The African Love Birds | Fallow is a tiny-sized bird, described as social, feisty, affectionate, typically living 10–15 years.
Balancing social against feisty
Breeds described as both social and feisty need the two managed together rather than separately. With a tiny bird that usually means a predictable routine first and training second - the routine is what makes the training stick.
Planning for about 12 years
A African Love Birds | Fallow is with you for about 12 years. Budget and routine both need to survive that, including the last quarter of it when a tiny bird needs more veterinary attention than it did young.
Where people go wrong
Choosing on appearance and fitting the household around it afterwards. It works better the other way: decide the hours and the space you have, then ask whether a tiny bird fits them.
Does your week fit this breed?
The honest test is not whether you want a bird, but who is responsible for it at seven in the morning on a weekday. A social tiny bird does not fill eleven empty hours quietly.
Noise and neighbours
Ask about volume before committing, particularly if you share a wall. Some species are genuinely loud and training does not change it.
A breed from Global / Various, living in India
The African Love Birds | Fallow was developed in Global / Various. The part that travels badly is rarely temperament - it is the coat and the tolerance for heat. Plan the year around that and most of the rest follows.
Households this suits
Homes where someone is around for part of the day suit the African Love Birds | Fallow well. Families with children generally do, with supervision in the first fortnight.
