Grooming a German Shepherd Puppy through the extended rainy season in West Khasi Hills

The aim here is dry, clean skin — appearance is secondary. West Khasi Hills's high-rainfall tropical conditions mean the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, so a German Shepherd Puppy kept here needs its grooming rhythm matched to the season rather than fixed year-round. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Exercise and daily routine in West Khasi Hills

Build the day around West Khasi Hills's conditions rather than a number from a breed chart. The extended rainy season needs the most thought, because the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline. A larger breed does better with two cooler-hour outings. Is a German Shepherd Puppy a good fit for West Khasi Hills?

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most pets eat less and sleep more while they adjust. Keep food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors. Vaccination and deworming dates come with the pet, and we stay reachable if anything looks off.

Common mistakes to avoid

Avoid choosing on looks alone, overestimating how much exercise the household can realistically provide, and rushing a diet change. In West Khasi Hills, also plan around the extended rainy season rather than assuming a year-round routine. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Feeding and daily routine

Set meal times and stick to them; free-feeding makes it hard to notice when a pet goes off its food. Change diet slowly and only after the pet has settled.
