Grooming a Shih Tzu through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Keshampet

Let the weather set the grooming schedule, not the calendar. Comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, which means coat and skin want checking more often through the brief pre-monsoon heat. On a smaller coat, skin irritation shows up well before matting does. Maintain a regular grooming routine suited to the breed's coat.

Shih Tzu and Keshampet's climate

This is the part most new owners underestimate. Keshampet is mild tropical plateau — comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward — and for a small dog that is the single biggest practical factor. Smaller breeds cope better with the heat but dehydrate faster, so water access matters more than pace. Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.

Preparing the home in Keshampet

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, keep the same food initially, and let the pet approach people in its own time rather than being passed around. The vaccination record travels with the pet and we are contactable if you have questions.
