Temperament and household fit

Border Collie Puppy are generally Smart, Energetic, Work-oriented. In Chungthang that matters in a specific way: with fewer immediate neighbours, there is more room for an energetic temperament to express itself. Match the dog to the routine the household actually keeps, not to the one it intends to keep.

Feeding and daily routine

A predictable feeding routine settles a new pet faster than anything else. Keep the existing diet for the first two weeks, then transition gradually over several days. Given the cool hill weather around Chungthang, fresh water should be topped up regularly. Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

Health, vaccination and the guarantee

Pets leave us vaccinated, dewormed and health-checked, with documentation included and a 7-day health guarantee from the day of delivery. Continuing the vaccination schedule matters, particularly given the cool hill conditions in Chungthang. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

Common mistakes to avoid

The frequent errors are choosing on appearance rather than temperament, underestimating exercise needs, and changing diet too quickly. In Chungthang specifically, the other one is ignoring the season — Check paws for cracking and ice between toes during the coldest months.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most pets eat less and sleep more while they adjust. Keep food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors. Vaccination and deworming dates come with the pet, and we stay reachable if anything looks off.

Costs beyond the purchase

The purchase price is the smaller part of the commitment. Budget for vaccination boosters, routine vet visits, food, grooming and occasional treatment. Grooming frequency in particular is driven by local conditions — in Chungthang's cool hill climate, crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter.
