Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy | Siju

Vet care and seasonal health in Siju

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. With near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the full textbook list. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Grooming a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy through the extended rainy season in Siju

Let the weather set the grooming schedule, not the calendar. Near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, which means coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, skin irritation shows up well before matting does. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy a good fit for Siju?

Two things decide this, and neither is the breed itself: what the housing looks like and what the weather does. Most homes in Siju come with their own ground, so a medium-sized breed is comfortable in the space a town home usually offers. And since near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the daily routine ends up mattering more than the floor space. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy and Siju's climate

Siju's monsoon-heavy conditions mean near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention. The practical rule that follows is simple: steady hydration and shade, rather than cutting activity back. Most of the advice written for the whole country misses this. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Which kind of pet suits Siju

Dogs, cats and exotic birds all do well in Siju, but they ask for different things. A dog needs daily outdoor time, which is easier to plan around Siju's monsoon-heavy conditions if walks are kept to the cooler ends of the day. Cats suit households that are out for long stretches. Birds need stable temperatures and no draughts. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Why more families across the North-Eastern states are choosing pets

Interest in pet ownership across the North-Eastern states is increasing year on year. Smaller households, more time spent at home and better access to veterinary care have all contributed. In Siju specifically, more generous plot sizes widen the range of workable breeds.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, keep the same food initially, and let the pet approach people in its own time rather than being passed around. The vaccination record travels with the pet and we are contactable if you have questions.

Health, vaccination and the guarantee

Health checks, vaccination and deworming are completed before the pet travels, records come with it, and a 7-day health guarantee applies from delivery. After that, routine vet visits and seasonal care keep problems small — relevant in Siju, where near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention.

Seasonal care in Siju

Siju sees monsoon-heavy conditions, so the extended rainy season is the period that needs most planning. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems. Grooming frequency, walk timing and water intake all shift with the season here, and getting that rhythm right early prevents most avoidable problems.

Preparing the home in Siju

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a pet room to move and settle in comfortably. Before the pet arrives, set aside a quiet corner away from through-traffic, sort out bedding, bowls and a carrier, and agree who is responsible for feeding and walks. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Costs beyond the purchase

The purchase price is the smaller part of the commitment. Budget for vaccination boosters, routine vet visits, food, grooming and occasional treatment. Grooming frequency in particular is driven by local conditions — in Siju's monsoon-heavy climate, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention.
